A Brief History of Washington

Washington is a New Town designated in 1964 to absorb population growth from Newcastle, Sunderland and Gateshead. The town was planned around five 'villages' (Concord, Albany, Sulgrave, Glebe and others), each with its own centre, schools and shops, all connected by a road network and the central Galleries shopping centre. The town also contains the historic Washington Old Hall — the ancestral home of George Washington's family, dating back to the 12th century. Nissan's UK car factory, opened in 1986, is one of the area's largest employers.

For the booking process we always: confirm the quote in writing by email, agree a date and a morning/afternoon time slot, send a courtesy text on the morning of the job if requested, dust-sheet floors and protect furniture, leave the work area cleaner than we found it, and collect payment only when you are happy with the finished work. Card, bank transfer and cash are all welcome. VAT receipts are available for landlord and business customers.
