Handyman Odd Jobs in Sunderland

The small, fiddly, awkward jobs you've been meaning to sort. One call, one tradesman, one tidy finish.

Some jobs don't really fit a single trade — they are the small, fiddly, awkward things that you keep meaning to get around to but never quite do. A door that won't close properly. A picture you can't get level. A flatpack you've given up on. A leaking radiator valve. A piece of broken fencing. A blind that won't stay up. A toilet seat that wobbles. A worktop joint that has lifted. We do these jobs every day — and we do them properly, with the right tools, the right materials, and a tidy finish.

Below is a representative list of the kinds of small jobs we are most often asked about. It is not exhaustive — if your job is not listed, that doesn't mean we don't do it. Send us a message describing what you need and we'll come straight back with an honest yes or no.

How Odd Jobs Are Priced

Odd jobs are priced in one of three ways. Very small individual jobs (changing a tap washer, fitting a single shelf, replacing a toilet seat) are charged at a flat call-out rate that we quote upfront — it covers our time, materials and travel, with no extras. Medium jobs are best booked on a half-day basis: this works out far better value than paying for each job separately, and you can usually get a long list cleared in a single morning or afternoon. Larger jobs (anything over half a day) are quoted as a fixed price after a free site visit.

We strongly recommend grouping odd jobs together — call us with a list rather than one job at a time, and you'll get more done for less. A typical "snag list" half-day might cover: easing two sticking doors, replacing a worn door handle, reattaching a loose stair spindle, fitting a smoke alarm, swapping a tap washer, putting up three pictures and a shelf, refitting a wobbling toilet seat and resealing the bath. That is a real list we cleared in one morning recently.

What We Bring

Every job is approached as if it is a "full" trade job. We bring dust sheets, masking tape, vacuum, drill, full impact-driver kit, hand-tool kit, mitre saw, multi-tool, cordless circular saw, levels, pipe-cutters, basin spanners, mole grips, the lot. We carry stock of common consumables — silicone, screws, plasterboard fixings, pipe inserts, washers, push-fit fittings, common bulbs — and we charge for materials at cost (or as quoted upfront). If we have to leave site to pick up something specific, the trip is free; we don't double-charge for time.

When Odd Jobs Become Bigger Jobs

It happens. You ask us to look at a damp patch under the sink, and it turns out the entire trap is corroded and the pipework needs replacing. Or you ask for a single fence panel to be swapped, and we lift the panel out only to find three rotten posts behind it. We don't carry on regardless and then surprise you with a bill — we stop, explain what we have found, give you an updated price, and only continue if you say yes. Honesty is cheaper than a surprise.
