Some electrical work has to be done by a registered electrician — and rightly so. We work with a Part P registered electrician who handles everything that requires certification, while we handle the lighter side under their supervision.
What We Can Do Directly
Plug-and-play electrical jobs that do not require Part P notification — replacing light fittings on a like-for-like basis in non-special locations, fitting USB sockets where the wiring already exists, swapping out switches and dimmers, wiring lamps and bedside fittings, installing free-standing electric heaters, fitting under-cabinet lighting in a kitchen that already has a fused spur, PAT testing of portable appliances for landlords and small businesses, and the like.
For everything else — new circuits, new sockets, work in bathrooms or kitchens that requires certification, fuse-board upgrades, EV chargers, and any new fixed wiring — we coordinate our partnered Part P registered electrician so the work is certified and notified to building control properly.
Extra Sockets & Lighting Points
"I just need one extra double socket behind the telly" is one of our most common requests. Done properly it involves running a spur from the existing ring main, fitting the back-box neatly into the wall, terminating the new socket and testing the circuit. Our electrician issues the certificate. Total time is usually under two hours.
New downlighters in a kitchen or living room are a similar project — wired in dimmable LED, with proper fire-rated downlighter housings if they are penetrating a ceiling under a habitable room.

Fuse-Board Upgrades & EV Chargers
Older Sunderland properties still have wired-fuse consumer units and even occasional pre-RCD boards. Upgrading to a modern dual-RCD or RCBO-protected board is a half-day job, gives much better protection against electric shock, and is required to legally connect things like EV chargers.
EV charger installation (Pod Point, Ohme, EO and others) usually takes a half-day including a full installation certificate and (where applicable) registration for the Government EV grant.
PAT Testing for Landlords & Small Businesses
Annual portable appliance testing of every plug-in item across a rental property, salon, takeaway or office, with full report and individual labels. We can do a typical three-bed rental in under an hour.

Why Sunderland Customers Choose Us for Electrical Services
Sunderland is full of trades and not all of them turn up. We hear that from new customers almost every week — someone has waited two days for a callback, taken a morning off work for a quote that never arrived, or been chased for cash on a job that was never finished properly. We built our reputation by doing the simple things consistently: answering the phone, turning up when we say we will, giving fixed prices in writing, doing the job to a tidy standard, and leaving the house cleaner than we found it.
We are not the cheapest in Sunderland and we do not try to be — but we believe we offer the best value when you balance price, reliability and finish quality.
The Process — What to Expect When You Book
1. Enquiry. Fill in our contact form with a brief description of the work and a few photos if you can — the more we know upfront, the more accurate our quote will be. We respond within 24 hours on working days, often much sooner.
2. Site visit and quote. For most electrical services work we like to visit the property to give an accurate fixed price. The visit is free, takes 15-30 minutes and there is no obligation. For very small jobs we can quote from photographs alone.
3. Booking. Once you agree the quote we send a confirmation email and book a date. We do not take deposits for jobs under £500 — you pay on completion when you are happy with the work.
4. The work. We arrive on the agreed day in the agreed time slot. We dust-sheet floors, protect skirting and furniture, and work tidily. We keep you informed if anything changes.
5. Completion and payment. When the job is finished we walk you through it, hand over any guarantees or certificates and take payment. Card, bank transfer or cash all welcome.
