A Brief History of Marsden

Marsden is a small coastal area between South Shields and Whitburn, best known for Marsden Rock — a magnesian limestone sea stack just offshore that was once a vast natural arch until its collapse in 1996. The Grotto pub, set into the cliffs above the beach, is one of the most distinctive pubs in the country. The area has a small permanent population and a much larger summer visitor presence.

For the booking process we always: confirm the quote in writing by email, agree a date and a morning/afternoon time slot, send a courtesy text on the morning of the job if requested, dust-sheet floors and protect furniture, leave the work area cleaner than we found it, and collect payment only when you are happy with the finished work. Card, bank transfer and cash are all welcome. VAT receipts are available for landlord and business customers.
